New!: Haul & Launch

Every boat movement, scheduled and assigned.

Haul & Launch turns every haul-out and launch into a scheduled, assigned and tracked job — booked by the boater, run by the yard, visible to everyone.

  • Booked from the Customer Portal
  • One queue for the whole yard
  • Every movement billable
Raising a new haul request in Sharper MMS — choosing additional services
From the whiteboard to the queue

The hardest work in the yard still runs on phone calls

Hauling and launching boats is the most physically demanding, most weather-dependent and most frequently re-planned work a marina does — and in most yards it still runs on a phone call, a whiteboard and somebody's memory.

Requests arrive everywhere

Phone, email and walk-ups, living in different places. Requests get lost, double-booked or forgotten — and the office absorbs the complaint.

A schedule one person understands

The whiteboard or spreadsheet only its keeper can read. Nobody else can answer "when is my boat coming out?" — so every question becomes a call.

Lift capacity from memory

Capacity matched to the boat from memory means the wrong machine sent to the slip — wasted movements, and a real safety exposure.

Weather forces constant replanning

When the forecast or the tide turns, rescheduling means calling every affected boater by hand.

Movements recorded after the fact, if at all

Revenue leaks, and there's no reliable view of how many movements were actually performed.

Movement treated as an errand

The underlying issue: boat movement isn't run as a scheduled, resourced, billable job. Haul & Launch changes the unit of work — every movement becomes a record with an owner, a machine, a slot, a status and a price.

How it's built

Three pieces. One record.

A request is never a free-floating task — it's created against a real reservation, vessel and space, which is what makes every movement schedulable, chargeable and reportable.

For your boaters

Customer Portal

Where the boater raises a haul or launch request, picks the slot that suits them, adds the services they want, and follows the status of the job.

For the yard

Request Queue

Where the yard sees every request in one place, assigns the right lift and crew to each job, confirms the slot and moves it through its statuses.

For the operator

Dashboard

Where the operator sees movement volume, status mix, lift utilization and workload by assigned user across the whole operation.

One request, two audiences

A status that means the same thing to everyone

The boater raises and follows the request; the yard resources and performs it. Both watch the same job move through the same lifecycle — no phone call required.

Status What it means to the yard What your boater sees
Pending Request received, not yet resourced "We have your request"
Confirmed Lift and crew assigned to a slot "You are booked in"
In Progress The movement is being performed "Your boat is moving now"
Delayed Held — weather, tide, machine or crew "We have had to push this"
Completed Movement performed "Your boat is out / back in"
Cancelled Job will not happen "This booking is cancelled"

A job can be reassigned or cancelled at any point up to In Progress, and a Launch is raised only once its matching Haul is Completed — the round trip stays paired, just like it does on the water.

For your boaters

The phone stops ringing when the portal does the talking

The Customer Portal — a boater raising a haul request

Boaters book a haul or launch the same way they book everything else — online, at the moment they think of it, not when the office opens.

  • Sign in and see their own vessel. No account lookup, no explaining which boat is theirs.

  • Raise the request themselves. The job gets booked the moment they think of it, not when the office opens.

  • Choose the date and slot that suits them. They plan around their own weekend, not around a callback.

  • Add services up front. Everything captured once at booking, rather than negotiated on the dock.

  • Follow the job's status. From Pending to Confirmed to In Progress to Completed, right in the portal.

  • Know when it's done. Certainty without a phone call — the single biggest complaint driver in a busy yard.

  • Raise a request two ways. From New Request, or straight from the Rack List against the space that holds the reservation — where customer, vessel and reservation are pre-filled.

  • Capture the job in six fields. Customer, vessel, haul or launch, services, slot date and time, save.

  • Assign the right lift to the right boat. Vessel length, beam, draft and weight sit on the record when the machine is chosen.

  • Assign the crew. Every job carries the person performing it, so supervisors can balance the day.

  • Absorb the weather in minutes. Delay, reassign and cancel are status actions — not a cancellation, a rebooking and a round of phone calls. The boater sees the change in the portal.

  • Bill every movement. Haul and Launch are priced Point of Sale products set as the module defaults, so every request carries a charge automatically.

  • See the whole operation. Volume, status mix, haul-versus-launch split and lift utilization on the dashboard.

For the yard

The day is planned once, not renegotiated all morning

The Request Queue — every movement with its lift, crew, slot and status

Every request — portal or front desk — lands in the same queue with a date, a slot, a lift, a crew and a status the whole team can read.

What makes it different

Not a bolt-on scheduler

Haul & Launch sits on top of your existing Sharper configuration, so a movement request is always connected to a real boat in a real space with a real agreement behind it.

Booked by the boater

Self-service request raising with slot selection and additional services in the Customer Portal — not just a contact form.

Native to the marina record

A request is created against a real reservation, vessel and space inside the same platform that runs the rest of your marina.

Resourced, not just scheduled

A specific machine and specific people on every job, with the vessel's weight and dimensions on the record.

Built for a day that changes

Weather wins in a yard. Delay, reassign and cancel are first-class actions, so the schedule changes with the day — and the boater sees the change.

Commercially closed-loop

Haul and Launch are POS products set as module defaults, applied the moment the request is created. Nothing goes unbilled.

Rolled out at your pace

Enabled outlet by outlet and space by space — start with one rack. The module never forces itself on the whole yard.

Haul & Launch FAQs

Straight answers from the yard, not the brochure

Still weighing it up? Reach out and we'll walk through your yard together.

Won't our boaters just call anyway?
Many will at first. The queue works the same way either way — front desk raises the request on their behalf from one screen. Portal adoption grows once boaters see the status update without needing to call.
What if boaters pick slots we can't honour?
A portal request arrives as Pending, not Confirmed. The yard assigns the lift and crew and confirms the slot, so the marina always keeps control of the schedule.
Our yard is complicated. Can it be modelled?
Booking types, space groups and spaces describe racks, rows, docks and buildings as they actually are — and participation is per space, so you can start with a single rack and grow from there.
We already have a whiteboard that works.
Until the person who maintains it is off. Everything on the board becomes a record anyone can read, and the same data drives the billing and the reporting.
What happens when the weather turns?
Delay and reassign are built into the job lifecycle. A job moves without being cancelled and rebooked, and the boater sees the change in the portal instead of waiting for a call.
How much setup is it?
One guided sequence: module visibility, products, users and roles, the yard model and the first reservation. Our team walks you through it step by step as part of onboarding.
How is it priced?
Haul & Launch is an add-on module on top of your Sharper plan. Partner plans receive 25% off all add-on modules and Enterprise plans receive 50% off — see the pricing page, or book a demo for a quote for your yard.
