About Sharper
Always a water enthusiast and avid boater, software engineer Steve Champion has spent lots of time both in front of a computer and behind the wheel of his runabout.
In 2018, a friend in the marina business asked Steve to create a program to help him evolve his marina from a completely manual, pen-and-paper business to something more operationally efficient. Neither of them had any idea that a friendly favor would be the impetus for a game-changing marina management software.
After years of rapid growth, Sharper was acquired by Greater Sum Ventures, a tech-focused private equity firm in Knoxville, Tenn. With an infusion of capital for expansion and innovation, Sharper continues to help marina owners and operators modernize their business and maximize revenue.
