Feature Release - Haul and Launch

Haul & Launch is a new module inside Sharper MMS that turns every dry stack boat movement into a scheduled, assigned, and tracked job. Boaters raise haul or launch requests from the Customer Portal, yard teams manage every movement in a centralized Request Queue, and each request is billable the moment it is booked.

Hauling and launching boats is some of the most physically demanding, weather-dependent work a marina does, and in most yards it still runs on phone calls, whiteboards, and memory. We built Haul & Launch to change that.

What Haul & Launch does

Haul & Launch brings boat movement requests into one managed queue. Boaters raise their own haul or launch request directly from the Customer Portal, choose the time slot that works for them, add any additional services they need, and track the status from Pending to Confirmed to In Progress to Completed without calling the office.

On the yard side, every request lands in the Request Queue with a date, time slot, and status. Your team assigns the right lift and the right crew to each job, with vessel dimensions and weight visible on the record. When the weather changes or the tide shifts, you can delay, reassign, or cancel a job in a couple of clicks. The boater sees the update in the portal automatically.

Because every request is tied to a reservation, vessel, and space, and to a priced product, every movement is billable the moment it's booked.

How it works

Haul & Launch is built on three pieces:

Customer Portal. Boaters sign in, see their vessel, raise a haul or launch request, pick a slot, add services, and follow the job through to completion. (New to the portal? Our customer portal setup guide covers how marinas roll it out.)

Request Queue. Your yard sees every movement in one place, assigns lift and crew, confirms the slot, and moves the job through its lifecycle.

Dashboard. You see request volume, status mix, lift utilization, and workload by assigned user, so you can measure how hard each machine is working and balance the day.

The module sits on top of your existing Sharper MMS configuration (booking types, space groups, spaces, products, reservations), so a movement request is always connected to a real boat in a real space with a real commercial agreement behind it.

Who it's for

Haul & Launch is built for dry stack and rack storage operators, seasonal haul-out yards, service and repair yards, and multi-site marina groups that want to phase in adoption one location at a time.

The primary buyer is the marina or boatyard operator. The day-to-day users are yard supervisors, lift operators, and front desk staff. And the adoption driver is the boater, because self-service booking is what makes your phone stop ringing.

Fewer phone calls into the office. Boaters book and check status themselves instead of calling to ask where their boat is in the queue.
